Paola Than Named to ICBA Independent Banker’s 40 Under 40

Independent Banker magazine, the award-winning monthly publication of the Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA), unveiled its annual 40 Under 40: Emerging Community Bank Leaders list. The award recognizes the nation’s up-and-coming community bank innovators and influencers who represent the future of the industry. Paola Than, Vice President, Compliance Officer at Allegiance Bank is named to that list.

“From CEOs to compliance officers, branch managers, lenders and marketers, this annual award continues to uncover extraordinary talent within the community banking industry,” ICBA President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey said. “We congratulate Paola on this well-deserved honor. Her deep belief in the community bank business model and passion for supporting her customers and communities, especially in this COVID-19 environment where community bankers continue to step up to serve the needs of customers, should be commended.”

The feature story highlights how the 40 Under 40 honorees have overcome challenges and answered calls for innovation. The leaders also share their philosophies on leadership and where they see big opportunities for lending. Chosen from hundreds of entries, candidates were judged on the following criteria: character, leadership, community involvement, and innovation.

Paola has a vision of making banking simple, period. As a result, her ultimate goal is to make banking easily accessible to all people, especially consumers. In the process, Paola has honed her own unique leadership style.

She is an outstanding, effective, and efficient leader who has cultivated an environment of drive, ambition, and above all, teamwork to achieve excellence. She has a unique way of breaking down seemingly impossible projects and helping everyone realize their areas of expertise to achieve a common goal. From a community investment standpoint, Paola’s passion for helping Houston has inspired her team to become more active in various volunteering efforts around town as well.

Congratulations, Paola! Your Allegiance Bank family is very proud of you for this well-deserved honor.
