Customer Spotlight: Paige PR

Paige PR is a public relations and marketing agency that specializes in developing  strategic internal and external communication plans. Paige PR Founder, Paige Donnell, partnered with Allegiance Bank in 2018, entrusting the team with working capital needs and depository services. As a company that enjoys high level exposure in their field, Paige needed a Bank that could support business growth and was also willing to provide one-on-one consultation services. At Allegiance Bank, Paige PR is supported by Commercial Lender Brenda Edwards, who is proud to be a part of their growth story.

Early Beginnings

Paige PR was founded in 2012, right before Paige had her second child. Her oldest was constantly sick as a baby and a corporate job just wasn’t working with her need for a flexible schedule. Paige shares, “I came home one day and just told my husband that I had quit my job.” While Paige PR grew every year, Paige did not hire her first employee until 2016, and shares that some of the best advice she received at the time was to get a line of credit.

“One of my colleagues told me, get it now, when you don’t need it so when you do need it, everything’s lined up and taken care of,” she explains.

Paige started off with another bank and describes it as a “disaster.” The lack of customer service, interest in her company and response time made it extremely difficult as a small business owner. She felt as though she was not a big enough client to be invested in – and was with them for less than a year. When one of her colleagues moved to Allegiance Bank and suggested she look into them, Paige met Brenda Edwards.

Brenda, one of the lenders at Allegiance Bank’s 290 office, handles the loan and depository services for commercial businesses and their owners. She seeks to deepen customer relationships by making sure customers are set up with the products and services that facilitate their transactions and make their banking as seamless as possible.

Brenda and Paige met over lunch. Paige describes, “Brenda really took the time to ask a lot of questions about my business, business plan and plans for growth. We talk pretty regularly about all these things. She sees the bigger picture, even in a year like 2020 where things are crazy and business has been chaotic.”

When the pandemic hit, Paige PR didn’t lose clients right away. As a B2B agency that helps with crisis communication, employee communication and communicating news to markets, the business is typically insulated from economic disasters and has seen growth or steady work in downturns. While this was the case initially, Paige decided to go ahead and take advantage of the PPP funds available. When her team received word from Allegiance that they could fill out the forms, they were ready.

“Fast forward three months and we did lose clients. I am so grateful to have had funds to lean on through 2020,” Paige explains. 2020 has taught the Paige PR team how critical it is to have a bank and a banker that works for you. Having seen so many small businesses miss out on the PPP funding, Paige describes herself as “almost naïve” because the process with Brenda and Allegiance Bank could not have been smoother. At the time, she assumed everyone else’s PPP process was as simple has hers.

The Partnership

Paige contacts Brenda for any business ventures or personal lending things that she might need first. “I love Brenda and Allegiance. Brenda is a trusted adviser in my network, and I respect her judgment and guidance. I’ve worked with a handful of her colleagues in certain situations to make sure things are buttoned up and running smoothly,” Paige says.

Paige recommends Allegiance Bank for a variety of reasons. One is the knowledge and response time that Brenda and the team provide. The other is that small businesses are a huge part of the American economy, and Allegiance empowers small businesses to get to the next step of growth.

Paige shares, “Paige PR is a small business that provides livelihoods to our employees – and it’s something I’m really proud of and know that I’m making a difference in someone’s life. And to have a bank that’s willing to work with someone as small as us is amazing. It has created a level of security and devotion that this is my team.”
