Behind the Scenes at māk studio
Every day, māk’s diverse team of designers and makers meet to strategize and align on open projects. Throughout the day, they are often found collaborating on production, design and marketing efforts. Some of the senior leaders participate in continuing education courses to architects and interior designers.
māk studio’s ultimate goal is for designers all over the United States to use their new online design portal services when beginning an innovative new project.
māk and Allegiance Bank
In 2020, Allegiance Bank opened a branch in the East End, conveniently located down the street from the māk studio headquarters. Already familiar with several of the East End community bankers, including Office Manager Adriana Chavez, māk owners Liz and Jose Aguilar opened an account with Allegiance Bank. māk was looking for that personal connection with a banker, which they consider a critical aspect of their small business. In potential crises or a pandemic, māk knew they needed a bank and a banker that felt like an extension of their in-house team. māk appreciates the Allegiance Bank team’s friendliness, response time, and knowledge and support of the local small business community.
Hand Sanitizer Stations
When Allegiance Bank learned of māk‘s efforts to prototype and produce their new hand sanitizer stations during the COVID-19 pandemic, we knew we needed to support this product. Our customers are able to utilize the māk studio hand sanitizer stations in several of our Houston-area branches. We are proud to offer this customizable and innovative product that provides both Allegiance Bank customers and employees with value.
2020 was a tough year for many, and design services for commercial offices came to a halt as Americans transitioned to working from home. māk studio was able to innovate, prototype and market to the essential businesses that needed to remain open in the middle of the pandemic. By producing customizable hand sanitizer stations in Houston, māk was a crucial contributor to corporation’s reopening plans and helping customers and visitors of these companies remain safe during uncertain times. Liz Aguilar shares, “Keep your team grounded and continue to innovate. Good things can come from any situation if you are willing to look.”
