Banker Spotlight: Melinda Davison

A great example of someone who exemplifies this is Bank Officer and Loan Accounting Manager, Melinda Davison. Melinda first joined Allegiance as one of our bank tellers and has worked her way up through a variety of different positions over time. In each role, she has excelled at taking ownership of new tasks put in front of her, all while going above and beyond to assist others. Over the course of her career, Melinda has become an integral part of the Allegiance family, which is why we are proud to highlight her in today’s Banker Spotlight.
What She Does
As Bank Officer and Loan Account Manager, Melinda’s primary role is leading and training the Loan Accounting Staff, supporting them in any way needed. This includes overseeing the loans operation help desk and quality control workflow, monitoring maintenance reports and participation payments, and reconciling general ledger and DDA accounts. Currently, Melinda manages the daily operations of the over 500 loans on escrow, ensuring homeowners insurance, property taxes, and flood insurance premiums are paid on-time. The best piece of advice she has received that has had the largest impact on her career is, “never be afraid to ask questions or to ask for help.”
The Allegiance Way
Melinda’s work has a direct impact on our customers. Because of this, Melinda strives to do her job “The Allegiance Way.” She strives to treat her peers and everyone she interacts with at the bank with respect. This allows her to be successful as a leader and maintain strong relationships among her team. “Successful collaboration requires open communication and teamwork,” she says. “I encourage creativity and highlight on individual strengths which allows everyone to shine. There is no I in teamwork.”
Her commitment to her team is best demonstrated through her continually identifying opportunities to take things one step further. For example, if a request comes in from a team member that they can process themselves, she not only fulfils their request, but also provides step-by-step instructions on how they can process the request in the future.
Her above-and-beyond level of service has not gone unnoticed by her team. “A true unsung hero for us in Loan Ops is Melinda Davison,” shares her manager Terecca Jenkins. “She provides extraordinary customer service to not only the lending team but also our external customers. No challenge is too large and no task too small for her to take on.” Melinda strives to ensure all work is completed accurately and on-time. Respect and integrity coupled with her ability to proactively recognize needs within her team and meet them is what it means to do things the “Allegiance Way.”
Outside the Bank
Throughout her time at Allegiance, Melinda has appreciated the family-oriented culture. Her job has given her a flexible schedule, allowing her to balance her home and work life. Outside of the bank, Melinda loves spending time outdoors, bike riding or playing volleyball. Additionally, she enjoys watching movies and spending time with her family.
