Allegiance Way in Action This December

At Allegiance Bank, we believe in serving year-round, but December is always full of amazing opportunities to immerse ourselves in our communities. Here is a sampling of the way our employees have personified The Allegiance Way this month.

Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year: Vice President and Commercial Lender, Sherry Bufkin from our Pasadena location has been named by the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce as the 2019 Citizen of the Year. Sherry’s work and leadership in the community of Pasadena is an inspiration and standout example of the work we at Allegiance are most proud to do.

Owens Elementary Running Rabbits: Through a partnership with Allegiance bank, the Owens Elementary Running Rabbits – a running club for third, fourth, and fifth graders – recently received all new running shoes. The Running Rabbits club is an initiative intended to keep kids actively involved in physical fitness.

Owens Elementary Christmas Project: For several years, our West Belt team has sponsored the Owens Elementary Christmas Project. This Allegiance location comes together to collect gifts for children at Owens Elementary whose families are in need of assistance though the holiday season.

Build a Bike – Cycle Houston: CYCLE Houston gave 43 Allegiance Bank employees the opportunity to volunteer to build bikes in support of their cause: to improve second grade literacy in Houston’s Title One schools.

Anahuac High School FFA Donation: Debbie Standley and Marcus Vasquez presented two grant checks to the Anahuac High School FFA. One grant was provided by the TBA as part of a program encouraging banks to provide financial education to FFA programs in schools throughout Texas, and was matched by Allegiance Bank.

Best Christmas Ever: Our Gulf Freeway and East End locations are proud to support the Tejano Center’s Best Christmas Ever program with a donation of over $1,000. This year the Tejano Center wrapped over 9,000 gifts for the children of Houston who may otherwise not receive gifts.

Foster Y Angel Tree: Allegiance Bank’s Heights location hosted a toy drive benefitting the Foster Y’s Angel Tree. The truckload of toys collected will mean a brighter Christmas for the children of the Foster Y program.

Emery/Weiner Team of the Week: Through the academic year, Allegiance Bank celebrates the abundant talent, dedication, and sportsmanship of high school athletes in Houston. These athletes and coaches standout from the crowd and we are proud to celebrate and encourage their continued commitment.
