Allegiance Bank Customer Spotlight: Axiom
Axiom is a Houston branding and marketing agency that serves a variety of B2B and B2C businesses in the insurance, healthcare, senior living and energy industries. Their brand strategy and creative communications capabilities range from website design, digital presentations, advertising, video and print services. While Axiom did not truly start banking with Allegiance until 2020, Axiom’s Founder & President, Tom Hair, has personally banked with the firm for over five years and has known some of the founders and stakeholders of Allegiance Bank since its formation.
Axiom Design Group was established in 1998 after Founder Tom Hair concluded working for advertising agencies and graphic design firms in Houston, Dallas and Atlanta. Axiom Design Group worked for several Houston-based energy companies that involved developing projects for their operational centers in Australia, Brazil, England, Norway and the Netherlands. The business grew exponentially over the next 10+ years with many projects coming from technology-focused companies across the energy spectrum. As the company evolved and their service offerings broadened, their name changed from Axiom Design Group to Axiom. In 2012, the company moved its offices into a restored, historic fire station (circa 1903) on Washington Avenue, just outside of downtown.
As a marketing agency, Axiom constantly monitors technology and trends that could impact their business. They have always strived to stay at the forefront of the digital expertise that clients in any industry might need. Initially, this included animations, 3D modeling, interactive multimedia, and video work. Axiom has continued to evolve their expertise to include offerings based on digital strategy, including SEO, social media and HubSpot oriented initiatives.
Partnering with Allegiance
Axiom currently partners with Allegiance Bank for their commercial banking needs. As a business with years of branding expertise, Axiom recognizes when a company offers a great total brand experience. Founder Tom Hair notes that, “Allegiance Bank is one of those companies!” He describes the total brand experience of Allegiance as “thoughtful and deliberate,” which does not just happen by accident. From top to bottom, the Allegiance employees are responsive, thorough and pleasant to work with. There is also an emphasis placed on utilizing best practices for security in executing any transaction. This means a great deal to companies in today’s world where cybersecurity is becoming an increasingly greater concern.
Axiom shares that there are two main reasons they began banking with Allegiance. First, Axiom Founder Tom Hair has been close with Executive Director of Customer Experience, Linda Humphries, for many years. Tom shares that Linda has always made a point of truly engaging with him every time he reaches out to her or to Allegiance Bank for personal and commercial banking questions. Even after Linda set Tom up with Michelle Droubi, Senior Bank Office President at our West Belt office, she always checked back in to make sure everything was going well. Second, prior to banking with Allegiance, Axiom was with a larger national bank. This bank, during a period that it was dealing with some internal and external issues, essentially stopped managing the relationship with Axiom locally. They abruptly turned the account over to a representative from out of state without any prior discussion or notification. Without a designated relationship manager in Houston and no clear path to receive one, Axiom knew it was time to switch to another bank.
After each positive experience with the bank, whether it is in securing a PPP loan, working with customer service or planning for the future, Founder Tom Hair reminds himself and his employees that he wants the brand of Axiom to be like Allegiance Bank.
